Fujiwara no Nagasuke (藤原長輔)
FUJIWARA no Nagasuke (1104 - February 13, 1156) was a Kugyo (top court official) who lived at the end of the Heian period. He was Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state), and the third son of FUJWIARA no Nagazane, zo daijo daijin (the Grand Minister, posthumously conferred).
In 1115, at age 12, he became Kai no kami (Governor of Kai Province). He became Sahyoe no suke (Assistant Captain of the Left Division of the Middle Palace Guards) in 1120, Tango no kami (Governor of Tango Province) and Jugoinojo (Junior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade) in 1120, Jushiijo (Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade) in 1126, and Seihiinoge (Senior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade) in 1134, but he was prohibited from having access to the Imperial Court by Emperor Sutoku, who was angry about his half-sister FUJIWARA no Nariko being a favorite of the Retired Emperor Toba. He was allowed access to the imperial court in 1140. He became Uma no kami (Captain of the Right Division of the Bureau of Horses) in 1141, Ukyo no daibu (Master of the Western Capital Offices) in 1148, Bingo no suke (Assistant Governor of Bingo Province) in 1153, Kura no kami (Chief of Kuraryo, the Bureau of Palace Storehouses) in 1154, and Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) in 1154 under the Emperor Konoe, who was a child of Nariko.
